Boca Raton, FL – January 29, 2026 – ITSM Academy today announced the launch of ITIL (Version 5) Foundation training in alignment with the official certification release from PeopleCert.
The ITIL (Version 5) Foundation exam goes live on February 12, 2026. ITSM Academy has scheduled public, instructor-led virtual classes in U.S. time zones beginning February 24–27, 2026, making the Academy among the first training providers in North America to publicly deliver the updated framework.
ITIL (Version 5) represents the evolution of the globally recognized best-practice framework for digital product and service management (DPSM). The new version expands ITIL’s guidance across product lifecycle management, AI-ready governance, customer experience, and unified digital operating models—while remaining backward compatible with previous ITIL certifications.
“ITIL (Version 5) reflects where the market already is,” said Lisa Schwartz, Founder and CEO of ITSM Academy. “Organizations are no longer managing services in isolation. They are managing digital products, experiences, and AI-enabled ecosystems. Version 5 brings practical clarity to that reality.”
What ITIL (Version 5) Introduces
ITIL (Version 5) builds upon the strengths of prior versions while advancing guidance in several key areas:
- Unified digital product and service lifecycle management
- AI-native and digital-first governance principles
- Stronger alignment between strategy, delivery, and measurable outcomes
- Experience-driven service design
- Practical, role-aligned implementation guidance
The framework is designed to serve IT leaders, product managers, service owners, digital transformation leaders, and business stakeholders navigating increasingly complex digital environments.

ITSM Academy’s ITIL (Version 5) Foundation classes include:
- Live, instructor-led virtual delivery

Additional ITIL (Version 5) modules will be onboarded and scheduled by ITSM Academy as they are released by PeopleCert throughout 2026.
