Certified Process Design Engineer – Endorsed as Complementary to the ITIL® V3 Scheme and Awarded a Credit Value of 1.5 toward ITIL Expert. ITSM Academy offers Free Public Seats.
FORT LAUDERDALE, FL — November 25, 2009 – Yesterday Loyalist Certification Services (LCS) announced that their course, the Certified Process Design Engineer (CPDE)®, has been endorsed by APM Group as a Complementary to the ITIL Version 3 (V3) Qualification Scheme.
The CPDE qualification has been awarded a credit value of 1.5, which recognizes the alignment to V3 and can be used by candidates who successfully achieve the certification towards the ITIL V3 Expert Level of certification. CPDE has been developed in conjunction with leading industry experts and is the fourth complementary qualification for the Scheme. The source textbook was written by Donna Knapp, ITSM Academy’s Curriculum Development Manager. It it being published by J. Ross Publishing in Spring, 2010. The CPDE qualification is fully developed, tested and is currently offered through training organizations accredited by LCS. ITSM Academy has been offering thecourse since September of 2008. It is delivered in ITSM Academy’s public training centers and as a onsite, corporate class.
In June of 2008, ITSM Academy announced the addition of CPDE to our Catalog. “As the knowledge obtained in this course applies to every Service Management framework, standard and maturity model, CPDE fills an important gap in the ITSM education space,” says Jayne Groll, President of ITSM Academy. “While there are several process improvement frameworks such as ITIL, ISO/IEC 20000, MOF, CMMI and COBIT, there is very little education available on how to actually design or reengineer the processes described in those frameworks. Complementary Qualifications: The ITIL Qualifications Scheme recognizes supplementary certifications which link and “add value” to ITIL Best Practice and the V3 certification portfolio, under the ITIL Complementary Qualifications Scheme. In order to be recognized under this scheme, complementary qualifications must meet the following criteria:
- address areas within the ITIL Core or Complementary publications or other publicly available ITSM related or relevant publications (books, standards, papers etc)
- are not covered by other ITIL Core qualifications or
- cover existing areas of ITIL Core qualifications with a new focus
The LCS CPDE qualification endorsement recognizes the alignment to ITIL and can be used by candidates who successfully achieve the certification towards the ITIL Expertä Level of certification.
